Lunch @ Keisuke Ramen Paya Lebar Square

Lunch at Paya Lebar Square the other day and was introduced to Keisuke Ramen. I was told that this chain store carries some similarity to Ichiran Ramen, specially their Tonkotsu (refers to pork bone broth) soup base and the order form.

Left : Ichiran  Right: Keisuke
Same same but not same, of cos Ichiran's one more detailed and specific, Keisuke's ones very brief.

Interesting stuffs at Keisuke, you find free boiled eggs and bean sprout, free flow and you can have them as "Appetitiser" or can just add to your ramen. But that's not what interest me.... is actually they have white eggs...! Not saying that i never see white shell eggs, just that it is not as commonly found on any restaurant table in Singapore and usually white shell eggs cost slightly more than the common on supermarket shelves. So being a "Kaisu" Singaporean, indeed i picked the white one! Haha...
I am not a bean sprout person, so totally skip that.

Was give another interesting tool.... The sesame seed grinder or pounder...hmm... should be more like a grinder lah... It is for you to grind the seed into slightly powdery form and garnish it on your ramen. My co-diner said it is for you to kill time before the food is served.

The tonkotsu base is really rice and savory. There are only 2 spicy levels to choose from or totally not spicy at all, i didn't take the Red Spicy, took the medium one, and it's nothing close to spicy at all to me. When choosing the "taste of soup"- Light / Normal / Strong, according to the staff, it is just the level of saltiness you want your soup to be, not how rich it would be. I chose normal but i find it a little salty, for those who like it plain, ask for light of maybe extra light.

Green Tea Cola - this is also highly introduced to me! Hmmm... but after tasting it, there isn't any resemble to cola, or i might have think too much and relate it to coke. Nothing like that at all! Though there is a weak taste of green tea favor, i would say it is more like green tea soda. Still... not bad drink lah...

Gyoza to share, but i don't like it. The skin is very thin and soft, it did cause the gyoza to break easily or stick to each other, but the fillings are great. However i like it more crispy and juicier inside, it's just my preference, nothing to do with the gyoza.

Overall dinning experience still not too bad, small eatery place. We went during lunch, so expect a little queuing, by the time we were seated, the crowd has dispersed, only 3 staffs left in the store, i dunno if there should be more or all along only 3. But service is quite fast, staffs are friendly too. The price is reasonable, just like Ichiran you are expecting $14-$19 to each bowl of ramen. Comparing prices of food in Japan to Singapore, i think we are still fortunate, our food prices are still very reasonable.
