Fire Drill Practice - 19/Oct 2007

This wasn't the first time JTC management held the Fire Drill, and everytime we would be informed before hand, but not this time round... All my colleagues who were present that day were not aware...

First, the fire alarm sounded... everyone thought it was a faulty wiring causes it to ring, because it occurs too often. Then the ringing stop for a short while before it started to sound again...

This time, over the PA a lady was announcing, "Attention! Attention! The Securities are investigating on the reasons of the alarm, please remain clam...." So all my colleagues just take it as a false alarm and carried on whatever on-hand....

Second announcement came shortly, " ATTENTION! ATTENTION! There is a suspect of a fire break-out. Please evacuate immediately...!" After hearing this, everyone started to look tensed, is this for real or what..!?!?! Nevertheless, our MD instructed us to get out of the building first.... Some of us just brought along our mobile phone and wallets, some went out emptied handed, and one Japanese colleague quickly picked-up her bag....

Uncertain of the situation, we moved steadily out to the lobby area and saw many others out there. (For usual fire drill practice, we got to move swiftly to the carpark area of the building across the street) This ambiguous circumstance, lead us into thinking it was a real fire. However, when we followed the crowd out of the building, we saw marshals directing traffic....

Chey... It's a FIRE DRILL -_-"
