Toast Box

We went for a quick bite at Toast Box in Clementi Mall when it just opened. I like the ambiance a lot, just only that the ventilation wasn't as good. Maybe due to the amount of light bulbs they have, it's rather warm and stuffy inside.

Nice lighting isn't it? It is just very simple paper cut cap around the lamp, but the effect is soooooooo good!

I just cooked whatever i can find in the fridge, on the table....! (Can't find hotdog, my favorite for maggie mee!)

I know it looks awful, but who cares, as long it can fill my starving tummy and at least it has a bit of healthy values, isn't it?

Thai Steamboat

Accidentally found this lying in my photo album, event should be during Chinese New Year 2011.

We went Golden Mile to have our Thai Steamboat dinner. Mentioned about this steamboat, it is a little different from our normal style. You saw these 2 pieces of fatty pork oil...!?!?!?! This replace the butter we usually use for our bbq style. I found it quite interesting and best part is it keeps the original taste and smell of our food. Usually when we use butter, the food would stain with butter smell and taste so much like butter, using pork oil is just like normal cooking.

The fats are frozen, and it will slowly melt away while you cook your food on the sliding panels. Therefore the amount of oil flow to your food and the amount of oil you consumed is also controlled. Then the bottom rim is filled with our soup base to cook our normal boiled stuffs. The ingredient are not the buffet style, they are all fixed and come in as a set. But if you like to have extra of any poultry or such, you can order them separately at you own cost.

After our fulfilling dinner, we pop in one of the Thai pub.

It's a little funny dinner, Charles only invited 3 of us from him poly, which i thought might be a gathering event for us... but too bad~ We were sitting among his relatives table, felt a bit weird and hard to communicate. In any case, it is still a relax evening for me.

Charles had modified his dinner procedure a little:

They had the usual first march in, but on the second one, his wife walked in alone with her sisters.

They do away the "Yum Seng"!

They had "Live" pianist playing soothing music all night long!

It is sort of different feel for wedding dinner. Enjoyed myself with the food and wine!

Happened to come across this 偶像剧：录光森林. It is kind of typical Taiwanese drama whereby the female lead will have princess dream waiting for her prince charming to come back for her, yet her childhood buddy who has been secretly in love with her since young also want a piece of her...! Worst, in between came another girl who happened to be her sister fell with her price charming too... Multiple love triangles.... BUT i just love to watch such silly love triangles...

I usually go for drama with at least 1 or 2 big casts i knew of, in this drama the casts are:

Remember this guy, he is Iceman from MVP 情人

This guy is one of the male lead, in the show he is Williams Spencer, 威廉·史賓賽, in real life his name is 立威廉, Leon Jay Williams. He speaks spectacular fluent English...!! BUT his Mandarin suck big time...! Hiak... who cares... he is so charming in the show can...!!! I did a small research on his background, to my surprise he is a SINGAPOREAN...!!!! Grandpa is England, Granny is Germany + Japan, Mum is Singapore, no mention of the Dad. He is a mix blood from England, Japan, Germany and Singapore...!! Faint~ That's what the report said.... but I must admit i like his kind of good looking.

Ok back to the show, everything is acceptable EXCEPT one thing.... Most of the actors have to speak English for their script... this is the part that totally ruin the whole show...!!! It is really damn funny when they tried to pull through at least 2 sentences.

I am in the midst of it, looking forward for the ending... Anyway I am enjoying it......

Was watching the NDP earlier, lots of visiual effects and CG in this parade comparing to the previous years. It was so heart warming to hear those childhood National Songs, There was a time, We are Singapore, etc, thou many new version and additional song, it just feel good!

Lastly, let's recite the pledge again for one more time here.......
